Where to Pick Your Own Blueberries Near Orlando

Blueberry season is upon us!!!  Is there anything better than picking fresh fruit and taking it home right from the farm?  Sure, you can grab a pre-filled plastic container of blueberries from the store, but there really is nothing tastier than eating it right off of the bush it grows on!  My daughter LOVES picking blueberries and knows always go for the darkest ones as they are the most delicious.  Here are some of our favorite places to pick blueberries together and as a family.  Blueberry recipes not included.

Beck Brothers Citrus

Beck Brothers Citrus designates part of their farm for u pick blueberries, and the rest of the farm is used for their commercial citrus business.  Unlike most farms where you have a bit of a drive on to a country road, Becks is centrally located in Windermere, just off a tiny, narrow, lane and on to the farm you are.  With rows and rows of blueberries, your kids will have no trouble finding some fresh fruit to sample and help fill the buckets they give to you for picking in the fields.  Do note that according to their Facebook page, they only accept cash.

Bekemeyer Family Farm

Locally owned an operated, Bekemeyer Family Farm is a great place to take the kids for a fun blueberry picking adventure.  Now in to its 4th generation, Bekemeyer, is a farm where the blueberries are literally grown with love.  They also offer you pick for strawberries, citrus, and peaches along with an indoor farm stand featuring local honey, micro greens, farm fruits and vegetables.

Hours of Operation: 9 am to 2 pm Saturday and Sunday, Wednesday 10 am to 5 pm

Chapmans Berries

A local mom and pop blueberry farm is Chapmans Berries in St Cloud.  Though not officially opened for the season, they will literally be opened any day now.  Feel free to give them a call before heading out there at (321) 624-9482 to make sure they are ready for their you pick blueberry picking season.  Be advised they only take cash or check according to their Facebook page.  Like their page for updates on the perfect time to come get some berries.

Deland Blueberries

If you find yourself on this side of town, Deland Blueberries is a great place to pick blueberries with reasonable prices.  People rave about the tasty blueberries and how much fun the kids have plucking blueberries from the fields.  Put on some sunscreen and a hat, you are all set for your blueberry picking fun!

Hours of Operation: 10 am to 6 pm daily.  Closed Sundays and Mondays.  Always check their Facebook for the most up to date information on you pick blueberry times as hours may change depending on season.

King Grove Organic Farms

Being USDA certified organic, King Grove Farms is committed to only providing the best fruit possible.   The farm dates back to 1874, so the farmers are definitely experienced when it comes to their business.  With 20 acres of blueberries, along with 20 acres of orange groves, this is a great place to pick as it also it so serenely beautiful there.  The 150-acre farm is located in Lake County and is surrounded by water and conservation land.  With wetlands, pines, and wildflowers, this farm is worth a stop if not to just take in the view alone, but also for their delicious blueberries.

Lake Catherine Blueberries

Have you been to Lake Catherine Blueberries?  It is so much more than just a you pick blueberry farm.  Not only do they offer a store with some amazing cobbler and cakes, perfect share with your kids as a treat after picking your berries, as well as local honey and blueberry coffee, which is Rainforest Alliance Certified, but they offer some awesome evening entertainment.  They offer mazes and fun fall themed festivals as well as a creepy Christmas maze that takes you to Christmas land.  Depending on your kids’ age, this may be a fun night with your teens or may make a festive date night with your honey.

Hours of Operation:  Sunday 10 am to 6 pm, Saturday 10 am to 11 pm, blueberry you pick hours for the 2020 season have yet to be posted, do check their website for the latest info.

Southern Hill Farms

Pick some blueberries in the field and then relax with some of the best blueberry lemonade you will ever have (my personal fave)!  During the spring months, Southern Hill Farms offers a story time and craft to entertain the kids.  There is also a fun play area and impeccably clean, and rather fancy for a farm bathrooms.   Not only do they offer blueberry picking, they also offer sunflower, peaches, and zinnias picking as well.   Don’t miss some of their awesome festivals throughout the year, though these days they get insanely busy during those times.

Hours of Operation: Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 am to 4 pm during the months of late March, April and May. All hours are subject to change due to weather and crop availability, please always check the website the day of your planned visit.

Tom West Blueberries

From being in the blueberry business since 1954, Tom West Inc, knows blueberries, and knows how to grow them.  This makes them an awesome place to take the kids as you they are going to be some of the best in town!  They have yet to release their schedule for you pick as of time of publishing, so do check their website for updated information on this season’s blueberry picking dates and hours of operation.
