The best thing about doing all of these fun New Year’s Even activities is that you can do them in your pajamas or have everyone get dressed up and be super fancy as well. The options are totally up to you when you’re staying in the comfort of your own home.

Have an outdoor movie

If you have the ability to set up a movie outside, do so! This is a super fun way for the kids to cuddle up and see a movie on the “big screen”. Plus, you can make a bunch of homemade snacks and just snuggle down and enjoy.

Grab a projector and screen to create your own at-home theater.

Create funny YouTube videos as a family

If your kids love YouTube, why not create some funny YouTube videos together as a family to see if you can go viral. Who knows – maybe 2021 will be your year to get a family reality show!

Create your own Ball Drop

Dancing around the living room and having your own countdown just might be the perfect way to ring in the New Year. Crank up the music, put on some fun clothes, and create a ball to drop at midnight at home.

Play games

Family game night is always a good idea and when the kids are granted access to stay up late, they’re certainly going to want to play board games over and over again. Get out the cards, the board games, and even some electronic games to battle the kids as the hours pass by.

Beat That is a fun game of family challenges, that is perfect for game night.

Have a Zoom celebration with family and friends

Since we’ve all already been zooming with everyone all year long as it is, why stop now? If almost everyone that you know is going to be staying at home, just get them all on a big zoom NYE party and leave the camera running. Why not spend the last few hours of 2020 with all your family and friends?

Go camping in the backyard

If the weather is nice where you are, sleep outdoors. What a fun and unique way to start the New Year! All you need is some sleeping bags, some snacks, and a bit of adventure to have a fun camping trip right at home.

There are so many fun crafts that you can do with the kids to bring in the New Year. Just bring out the crafting supplies and let them get to work! They’ll probably want all things glitter as well so just know that there’s going to be a bit to clean up by the end of the night!
