Taking our kiddos out for fun activities is awesome, but let’s admit, it can get a bit pricey sometimes, especially, if we have more than one kid! Finding a way to balance our budget and still have fun can get tricky. But, it doesn’t have to be. There are plenty of free kids activities in Orlando that you can take advantage of.
Free Kids Activities in Orlando
Here is a list of things that are fun for the kiddos and free for parents! Keep in mind, some of these activities are online due to Covid-19, and many require pre-registration.
Bank of America Museums on Us
Bank of America Museums On Us offers free admission to select museums on the first full weekend of every month. This is a special offer to anyone with a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch Debit or Credit Card. Just present your card and take your kids on a cultural journey through the museums. Free admission is available at the Orlando Science Center, Orlando Museum of Art, Mennello Museum of American Art, and Orange County Regional History Center.
Central Florida Railroad Museum
The Central Florida Railroad Museum, located in Winter Garden tells the story of how the Railroad impacted the growth of Winter Garden, like so many agricultural communities in the 1800’s. Artifacts in the museum are from several original railways in Central Florida.

Seminole County Library will host the virtual event on zoom. Frozen Fever will include stories, science, and a dance party. Pre-Register Here and Pick up your packet before the event so you can make a special craft.

Geocache Treasure Hunt
Get outside and have some GPS fun! Seminole County Parks has teamed up with Seminole County Library System to bring you a Geocache Treasure Hunt. Specific coordinates will take you to a location inside Greenwood Lakes Park and Red Bug Lake Park. Find the treasure and post your findings. Event is free, but you must download the Geocaching App.

Lego Kids Experience
Sharing and building with Lego’s at Disney Springs may be put on hold, but virtual fun is still available! Build, create, and play online with Lego Kids Experience. Discover new sets, watch videos, and build new creations.
Typically the 1st Monday of every month is free entry to Leu Garden. Due to the Dinosaur Invasion event happening right now, free entry Monday has been suspended through April 2021. Join them on May 3, 2021 as they open back up for Free Entry Monday.

Mennello Museum hosts a Free Family Funday. Typically it is every second Sunday of the month. For now, check out their Family Funday’s online. Keep checking back on their site for when we can return in person.
Michaels Kids Club Online
Join Michaels as they bring fun and engaging activities for the whole family. Get creative at home as you join in on the fun. It’s ok if you don’t have the exact supplies, collect what you have at home and use your imagination to follow along and create your own masterpiece.
Orange County Library
Orange County Library System hosts a variety of free classes and events. Ages for each event varies. Your kiddo can join a club or attend a story time, or even a craft session in jammies. All classes and events are available online at this time. Pre-Registration is required.

Orange County Regional History Center
Orange County Regional History Center offers Free Events each month. Join them on February 6, 2021 for Family Day; Growing A Better Tomorrow. This Free Family event will help parents begin to contextualize a conversation with our kiddos on Florida’s history and how we, Together, Can Grow A Better Tomorrow.

Orlando Fire Museum
Orlando Fire Museum is home to fire engines and artifacts dating back to the 1800’s when the 1st volunteer firefighters banned together in Orlando. The museum is run by retired firefighters and is frequently visited by current fire fighters that share their experiences as well as knowledge of the artifacts and Orlando’s firefighting history.

Peanut Butter Matinee Series
Brought to you by Enzian, the Peanut Butter Matinee Family Fun Series usually occurs on the fourth Sunday of every month. Kids 12 and under are free, adults are $9.00.

Pokemon Family Fun
Outdoor scavenger hunt, activities, and a separate trivia night for kids ages 5-12. Join Seminole County Library as they host Pokemon Family Fun at their east branch Library in Oviedo. Stop in for themed crafts and activities to take home. The scavenger hunt activity sheet can be picked up inside the library as well, or check out their social media platforms to download. Pre-Registration is required for Trivia Night only.

Popcorn Flicks in the Park
Popcorn Flicks in the Park presented by Enzian Theater, will be hosted by Central Park in Winter Park in February. They will be playing the movie Breakin’ 2 Electric Bugaloo.

Seminole County Library System offers a variety of free classes, events, and clubs for children of all ages. Their events calendar can be found here. Classes and clubs are available online at zoom and pre-registration is required.

Story Walk at Red Bug Lake Park
Travel the Park with Seminole County librarians as you discover what Snowmen do when no one is looking. Librarians will read the story “Snowmen at Night” by Caralyn Buehner. Enjoy this Event and then Pick up an activity to go from the pavilion by the playground and continue the fun at home. Registration is not required.
