We here at Orlando Parents recommend getting out and doing things as a family, but we acknowledge that sometimes that can be kind of pricey. So every month, we bring you a list of free activities in Orlando for the family to enjoy. Take a look on what is on offer in the month of March.

Old Town Movie Night
Old Town Movie Night is one of the free activities in Orlando that happens every month. Bring the entire family to Old Town Movie Night and watch free movies on a big screen. Old Town will play family-friendly movies and classics every Sunday night. Bring a chair, grab some snacks at your favorite Old Town store, and spend the night watching a movie underneath the stars. Movies can be watched on the patio next to A&W Restaurant.

Go to the museum on Family Funday and enjoy free admission, a free miniature fine art project and free docent touring. Each Family Funday has a different theme based on the current exhibition in the museum. This month is Floral Painting.

Fleet Farming Swarm Rides
Bring your bike, skates, or other wheels and join the Fleet Farming Swarm Rides as we ride from East End to tend to our various farm plots throughout the neighborhood.

The OARS Invitational Regatta is one of the premier rowing events in the southeast, traditionally attracting more than 1,000 rowers from around Florida and neighboring states. Racing takes place on a 1500m course on Turkey Lake, with races starting every 7 minutes. The regatta is free for all spectators, but there is a $4 fee for parking at Bill Frederick Park. Spectators are invited to bring chairs or blankets for comfortable viewing along the lake.

Crealde Family Fun Festival
Crealdé’s popular open house is a day of free fun, art, and play on Crealdé School of Art’s lakeside campus. Children can enjoy pony rides, face painting, and bounce house fun in the Contemporary Sculpture Garden. They can also choose from a wide selection of hands-on art workshops, including plein-air pastel painting in the garden facing Lake Sterling, darkroom photography, clay animal sculpting, and printmaking. Families have the opportunity to see all the studios, meet Crealdé’s professional art faculty, and register for classes.

Popcorn Flicks in the Park: Featuring The Three Stooges Meets Hercules
Popcorn Flicks in the Park is presented by Winter Park CRA and produced by Enzian Theater. This film series features classic films for the whole family. We encourage you to bring a blanket, a picnic or snacks, and some family and friends and join us. Free popcorn for everyone!

Baldwin Park St. Patrick’s Festival
Baldwin Park St. Patrick’s Festival is back for another year of family fun. This family-friendly event will feature food trucks, a beer garden, music, dancing, and a street full of vendors and local businesses!

Free Admission at Leu Gardens
Explore Leu Gardens, an amazing 50-acre botanical oasis minutes from Downtown Orlando. Each garden is designed specifically to further our mission: inspire visitors to appreciate and understand plants. The garden and historical home were donated to the City of Orlando in 1961 by Mr. Harry P. Leu and his wife, Mary Jane. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Sidewalk Art Festival
The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is one of the nation’s most prestigious outdoor art festivals. Each year more than 350,000 visitors enjoy the show.
Expect to see dazzling sculpture and glass for the big pocketbook as well as smaller works to please just about anyone. Enjoy Friday night’s jazz concert, children’s workshop village and school art exhibits, and great food and sidewalk cafes.

Grab a blanket or a chair and enjoy a family-friendly motion picture under the stars every month this Spring at Movies Under the Stars. The Clermont Parks and Recreation Department is bringing you great movies and awesome family fun. Join us for this rain or shine event at Waterfront Park. This month the movie is Toy Story 4.

Community Chalk Art Festival
Get Ready to Rock n Roll with Gateway Orlando and watch art come alive during the 2nd Annual Community Chalk Art Festival . This event is free and open to the public.
