Two weekends ago I headed over to FantasyWorld Resort with my family. To be honest, I had never heard of this resort before they reached out, but I figured I would go and check it out. I am glad that I did. It is a great budget option for an Orlando staycation. But don’t let the price fool you; even though the cost may be low, the fun to be had is high!

About FantasyWorld Resort

FantasyWorld Resort is located in Kissimmee, so it is perfect for a staycation or even out of town visitors. Instead of just a small hotel room, the resort offers 2-bedroom townhouses, that have a living room dining room combo, a kitchen (with full-sized refrigerator, a stove and dishwasher) and two bathrooms. Units also have a small patio with a table and chairs in the back of the unit.

For those of you who cannot bear to leave Fido at home or at doggy daycare, FantasyWorld allows you to bring dogs up to 40 pounds with you. Even better, they have a doggy play area, that seemed perfect for your furry friends.

Activities at FantasyWorld Resort

The resort has a ton of fun activities for the family.

If your family loves being in the water, the resort has a large family pool, splash pad and a lazy river. While we did enjoy the pool, the lazy river was just a bit too lazy for us; it didn’t really move at the speed of a typical lazy river, so I would skip and focus on the pool instead. The resort offers two water slides which are tons of fun for both adults and kids. Both my daughter and I enjoyed the slides.

Tip: The stairs going up to the waterslide are in need of resurfacing, so I recommend wearing water shoes when going on the slides.

The resort also offers an 18-hole golf course. While the mini golf course doesn’t have a lot of the bells and whistles of some of the newer mini golf courses in the area, it was still a lot of fun to play and best of all, it is included in the cost of your room.

The resort also has an activity center that runs activities all day long. At the beginning of the day, they put out a big board listing all the activities for the day and you can choose what you would like to participate in. Some activities have a small charge associated with them. We participated in the tie-dye t-shirt making which the entire family found fun, and the kids have worn their t-shirts multiple times already since we left the resort. Other activities include hula hoop contests, bingo, football toss, make a stuffed animal and more. In the activity center, there is also a craft corner, where kids can choose from a variety of crafts such as sand art, piggy banks, sun catchers, and more!

If your family loves sports, do not worry; FantasyWorld Resort has got you covered! At the resort, they have tennis and basketball courts, bocce ball and batting cages. There is also a playground for the littles.

Dining at FantasyWorld Resort

The resort has one restaurant and bar, which is located near the pool, where you can grab a meal or a drink. It mainly serves snack type food such as wings, burgers, fries, etc. You can also grab sodas, blended drinks, beer and wine.

Most people will choose to either cook in their villa or to get takeout from the myriad of restaurants in the area. There are also BBQ grills available around the property if you want to grill up your own burgers and dogs. We brought snacks and breakfast items with us from home and picked up some dinner at Publix before heading to the resort.

Tip: Eat in the room for breakfast and bring your own snacks and drinks along when staying in a condo or timeshare to help reduce costs.

Safety Measures at FantasyWorld Resort

FantasyWorld Resort is doing a deep cleaning of each villa between guests. When we arrived at our villa there was a seal on the door, that had to be broken, that certified that the room had been cleaned. When we entered our villa, all the dishes were in the dishwasher with a seal on the dishwasher as well. Both of these things made us feel safer about the cleanliness of the room.

There was a mixture of mask wearing around the property. Most guests did not wear them, but workers did. To enter the main lobby there was a sign that masks were required, but this was not always followed.

Hand sanitizing stations were available around the pool and in the lobby for guests.

If you are looking for an Orlando staycation, that isn’t going to break the bank, then I would highly recommend checking out FantasyWorld Resort. There are lots of amenities and activities to keep your family entertained without having to go off property.
