I don’t know about you, but breakfast is my favorite meal – I could eat it for lunch, dinner, and even for a midnight snack. And for a really good breakfast, I’ll travel. So if you are looking for something a little more complicated than a basic bacon and eggs, here are some breakfast places in Lake Nona to try. They’re all worth the drive out and they are places that I love to keep going back to.

Canvas

Canvas, buried in the center of Lake Nona’s Laureate Park neighborhood, sits on a lake and offers great views. With delicious smoothies, pastries, and breakfast dishes, you can’t go wrong no matter what you pick. While you can take your order to go, we recommend getting a seat by a window, or sitting outside near the Glass House, one of Lake Nona’s iconic art installations.

Try the apple pie crepe for something a little sweeter, or a bagel sandwich for a classic breakfast. There are also several savory crepes and paninis that make a good breakfast option, such as the smoked salmon crepe. This restaurant has another full restaurant in Oviedo and a gelato store in Maitland.

Sweet Mama’s

Sweet Mama’s is a long-time Lake Nona favorite. Known for its delicious omelets and its great variety, this locally-owned breakfast place is where you’ll find many Lake Nona celebrities. Try the philly cheese steak omelet, or the corned beef hash benedict. Be warned, Sweet Mama’s is known for its close quarters – that’s part of its charm – and there may be a wait on weekends.
