Earth Day Celebrations for Orlando Families

Earth Day is an excellent opportunity to find out what we can all do for our planet.  Maybe we’re taking small steps each day with the 3 R’s, Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse, that’s great!  For Earth Day go out and celebrate at these events while enjoying live music, fun activities, and learning more from environmental education and workshops!

Mount Dora Earth Day Celebration

Celebrate Earth Day at the Mount Dora Earth Day Celebration.  Enjoy live music while browsing plant vendors, exhibits, crafts, and an Upcycled Fashion Show.  You can also join in on a yoga session or an educational workshop.  Proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing and planting trees locally.

Party for the Planet

Party for the Planet at Brevard Zoo. Celebrate Earth Day with themed activities and hands-on games.  Learn how to protect sea turtles, compost at home, and more!

Zooventure Family Workshop

Zooventure Family Workshop is a great way to see the animals and how the changes you make every day, big or small, affect them.  Choosing to make changes to help the planet greatly impacts our wildlife as well.  Engage with the zookeepers and volunteers as the classrooms inside the zoo come to life, sharing information in a fun fresh way.  Classes, Crafts, games, and encounters will make for a fun and educational day that will show you how you can continue to make an impact for our planet and animals.

Make Every Day Earth Day

Brought to you by Winter Park, this weekly video series Make Every Day Earth Day, will honor Earth Day while educating the public on ways you can make a difference at home.  Each week the videos will focus on sustainable living, protecting plants and animals, and preserving our resources.

Oakland Nature Preserve

Oakland Nature Preserve  will celebrate Earth Day this year with outdoor yoga, a family GPS Scavenger Hunt, and end the day with a sunset hike.  Pre-Registration is required for yoga.  Be sure to take along a mat or towel, bug spray, and sunscreen.  Yoga is from 9:30-10:00, scavenger hunt is available all day.

Run for the Trees – Jeannette Genius McKean Memorial 5k

The City of Winter Park and Track Shack hosts Run for the Trees.  It is a point to point 5k, with the last mile of it on Genius Drive.  It’s a privately owned, tree canopied dirt road that is only open to the public once a year, for this race.  It is a glimpse of Old Florida not seen by many.  The Event is in person and virtual.  All in person finishers will receive a young tree to take home and plant. Pre-Registration is required.

Clermont Earth Day and Lake Clean Up

Join Clermont as they Celebrate Earth Day with a lake clean up and Festival.  The Festival will include environmental education, a fun kid zone, a DJ, free food, giveaways, and more!  Registration is required.

Earth Day Celebration – Wildlife Weekend

Earth Day Celebration – Wildlife Weekend  allows you to take a walk on the wild side while visiting their sanctuary animals and learning their amazing stories.  

T-shirts, animal painting, and other gifts are available for donation.  Parking is limited and must be reserved for $5.00.

Central Florida Earth Day

Central Florida Earth Day , join in at Lake Eola Park for this family friendly and dog friendly event.  Stop in for an early morning 5k or join in the It’s Just Yoga festival that will coincide with the Earth Day celebration.  This event will host tons of food, food prep and information on becoming vegan, environmental education,  demonstrations, a fun kids zone, art, information on dogs in need at their animal haven, and much more.
