Altamonte Springs is a lively suburb just 12 miles north or Orlando.  It has a quaint feel without being at all boring. In addition to being centrally located to some of the best suburbs north of Orlando it has made quite the name for itself.  Enjoy all that Altamonte Springs has to offer from their downtown area, one of their beautiful parks, or one of their fun indoor activities.

Altamonte Mall

Altamonte Mall is always a good idea.  Take the kiddos to Build-A-Bear Workshop or maybe to the indoor play area.  Everyone loves the food court with yummy options such as Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Mrs. Fields cookies, and Chick-Fil-A.  Head over to Barnes and Noble to grab a Starbucks treat, browse toys, and read books in the cute kids corner.

AMC Altamonte Mall 18

Movies are always a great go to for the kiddos.  At AMC Altamonte Mall, buy tickets early and reserve your seating in any one of their Dolby, 3D, or Imax theaters.  Running late, or don’t want to wait in line with all those kids?  Order ahead and they’ll have the snacks waiting when you get there.  Don’t forget to check out their Discount Tuesdays or summer dollar movie deals.

Congo River Golf

Congo River Golf is a slice of vacation heaven right in your backyard!  Enjoy a fun game of putt-putt and scavenger hunt then check out their laser maze and arcade.  Don’t forget to feed the gators or sift for jewels at their gold rush.

Chuck E. Cheese

Everyone knows Chuck E. Cheese, and it’s always a favorite for the kiddos!  Their Summer Fun Pass has now been extended to September 13th.  Pay for a day and play all summer. Cranes Roost Park

Cranes Roost Park is the heart of Uptown Altamonte Springs.  Within the 45 acre park   there is a beautiful 1 mile walking trail that surrounds Cranes Roost Lake with benches and covered seating.  In the lake you will find a one of a kind floating stage as part of it’s amphitheater with stadium style seating where they host live music. There’s a fountain with a choreographed water show, cobblestone path walkways, beautiful greenery, and seating to enjoy those cooler nights. 

Cranes Roost hosts many holiday events including costume contests for Halloween, a Christmas light display, fireworks, live music and so much more!

Eastmonte Park

Eastmonte Park is one of Altamonte Springs’ premier parks.  It is the home of Altamonte Baseball Academy and special needs activities such as their Buddy Ball program.  Check out their racquetball or tennis programs as well.  

The park boasts a playground area with handicap accessible features, 3 picnic pavilions, five lighted baseball fields, four indoor air-conditioned racquetball courts, outdoor basketball court, and a lighted tennis court.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8AM – 10PM, Friday and Saturday 8AM – 12AM, Sunday CLOSED

Lucky Monkey

Lucky Monkey is a super fun indoor playground. It’s a perfect indoor spot for kids 8 and under, it has a little bit of everything.  There are small slides, a 3 person merry go round, and plenty of opportunities to climb, crawl, and have a ball. For the older ones, there’s a climbing play area with a slide, a bounce house, and an air hockey table.  A concession stand is available for snacks and drinks.

Merrill Park

Merrill Park is a local favorite.  Let the kiddos play on the playground and swing sets nestled between mature trees for plenty of shade or take a walk around the exercise trail. Merrill Park hosts the Altamonte Girls Fast Pitch softball program as well as beach volleyball leagues.  You’ll find 3 lighted softball fields, 3 lighted beach volleyball courts, exercise trail, 2 pavilions, and batting cages.

Metro Diner

Metro Diner is a local favorite for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.  From their popular Fried Chicken and Waffles, to Meatloaf, to daily specials, anyone is sure to find a new favorite meal.  Does Metro Diner sound familiar?  That’s because their original restaurant, opened in 1992, made an appearance on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
